Research Brief: Incorporating Neighborhood Texture Into Hurricane Loss Estimation

While the need for hurricane resilience has become increasingly urgent, current tools still underestimate how the arrangement of structures may exacerbate wind-related losses. In this research brief, CSHub research assistant Bensu Manav quantified these kinds of unmitigated losses, which, she found, reached $697 million annually in Miami-Dade County.
