Durable materials are those that are able to last a long time without significant deterioration or need for repair or replacement. Using more durable materials offers environmental advantages by conserving resources needed for the production of replacement materials and by lessening waste, and economic advantages by reducing costs associated with repairs or replacement. CSHub durability research seeks to understand some of the mechanisms that cause damage to concrete pavements, buildings, and infrastructure.
