Gregory to participate in disaster resilience workshop

July 23, 2014

CSHub executive director Jeremy Gregory will participate in the second disaster resilience workshop held by the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey on July 30. Earlier this year, NIST convened a series of workshops engaging a broad network of stakeholders to help develop the Disaster Resilience Framework, with a focus on the role that buildings and infrastructure lifelines play in ensuring community resilience. The first version of the Disaster Resilience Framework will be released for public comment in the spring of 2015.

As part of its research, the CSHub studies the role that concrete plays in helping to make buildings and infrastructure -- and communities as a whole -- more resilient in the face of extreme weather events and other hazards.
